About Justice Marc Brown

mb2Justice Marc Brown was appointed to the Fourteenth Court of Appeals for the State of Texas in October of 2013.  Justice Brown was elected without opposition in 2014.

Justice Brown graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Houston Law Center.  Justice Brown previously served as a prosecutor for the Harris County District Attorney’s Office for 22 years and was recognized by numerous organizations for his  service as an Assistant District Attorney.  In 2010,  he was elected Judge of the 180th District Court of Harris County Texas.  Justice Brown served as trial judge until his appointment to the Fourteenth Court of Appeals.  On the trial bench Justice Brown earned the respect of both sides of the bar.  Since becoming an appellate Justice,  Marc Brown has authored over 200 opinions and been awarded membership in the American Law Institute.

Justice Brown and his wife, Susan, have been married for 27 years. They have two daughters, Amy and Sara, who both live and work in Houston. The Browns are a house divided. Amy and Susan attended Texas A&M, while Sara and Justice Brown graduated from UT. Despite this, everyone manages to get along most of the time.
